Cancelled for 2020 . An old boxcar will be used to once again to help feed the hungry of Greater Victoria by partnering with the Victoria Cool aide Society. Last year it was filled with over 2000 lbs of food, only a fraction of what it can hold. The goal this year is to collect more than 2000 lbs.
The food drive will be part of the 2nd Annual Nomad Holiday Market at the Historic Roundhouse at Bayview at 253 Esquimalt Rd. In support of the Victoria Cool Aid Society.
“Last year we had many people from local communities drop off food and then go shopping at the locally made, hand crafted artisan market, held inside the Historic Roundhouse,” says Joseph Gonyeau, market organizer. “Galey farms graciously dropped off two pallets of potatoes. This was a big help but we really need everyone to add what they can. If we all do a little, it adds up to be a lot.”
Bayview Place has been very supportive along with the artists who will be attending the market.
“We hope the people of Greater Victoria feel the same sense of opportunity and step up to fill the railcar, helping to feed people in need,” Gonyeau said.

Bring food and shopThe easiest way to support the cause is to come to the Nomad Holiday Market at the Roundhouse. A portion of the cover charge goes to the Salvation Army. If you bring some food your 5.00 cover charge will be upgraded to a weekend pass.
