One of the most memorable burgers I ever had was from the Eat Machine. With your top quality ground chuck burger ask for mushrooms, bacon, and cheese, and you won't be disappointed (but you might need two hands and a foot to hold it)!
These guys have a full time spot at the Causeway, across from the Empress along the water. Tomorrow you can find them at the Ship Point Market for Canada Day.
Other Canada Day food vendors:
Mama Rosie's Kitchen
L'Authenique Poutine and Burger
Jusu Organic Juice Bar
Great Pacific Pasty Co.
Double D's Mac and Cheese
There will also be a ton of local Jewellers, Artists, Musicians, and more!
See you tomorrow!
These guys will be back this year. Great hamburger and Poutine. The owner of this truck was born in the town of Poutine. I know you probably did not know there was town called Pouitne. Me neither. They sure know how to make it right.
These yummy food items will be at ship point market for Canada Day for the whole day. Wear your Canada Day colours and stop for a bite to eat. We will have over 9 food trucks to choose from
I was lucky enough to find some time today to walk into a great little shop called Making it [The Makehouse?] on Fort street.
In this quaint store I found more than what mere physical creations can evoke. I found fond child hood memories. Vintage patterns for dressmaking.
My Mom was a self proclaimed seamstress. Making all her clothes by hand from patterns bought at the fabric store. I spent hours at thatstore helping pick out the latest fashion. More hours having great conversations with her as she laid out the materials and patterns across her bed. A week later, the conversation would be about which colour of shoes would go with the new dress...
The owner of The Makehouse has vintage patterns from the 60s, 70s, and - as she showed me her new stash of patterns from the Mad Men era - the 30s and 40s. She will be preparing no less than 8 looks for this years Fashion Splash show.
Looking forward to seeing her works on the catwalk.
